Paul Pierce and Amir Johnson Trade Shots Prior to Wizards-Raptors
Washington Wizards forward Paul Pierce has been holding nothing back from the media lately, calling out former Brooklyn Nets teammates and telling Wizards teammates John Wall and Bradley Beal that they need to "make up their mind" about whether or not they want to be good. He also added that the Raptors don't "have the 'it' that makes you feel worried" as an opponent, via Jackie MacMullan of ESPN.com.
Raptors forward Amir Johnson would not take these comments lightly, telling TSN (h/t The Washington Post) that this talk is mostly to fire Paul Pierce up and nobody else.
“To me personally, I think that’s just to get Paul Pierce going, you know?" Johnson said. "Older guy, a vet, you know, he needs to get himself going and I think that’s what those comments are for. It’s just like, you know, when you use Viagra, you know, how do you get yourself going?”
Johnson went on to explain that the Toronto fans will be booing and that Jurassic Park will "give him hell" when he touches the ball.
Game 1 between the Wizards and Raptors is Saturday and is already shaking up to be a heated one.
