Knicks and Magic Set NBA Record After Combining for 15 Points in 2nd Quarter
The 16-64 New York Knicks and 25-55 Orlando Magic combined to make history Saturday, but not the kind of history either team will be proud of.
In the second quarter, New York and Orlando scored a total of 15 points, which is the lowest-scoring quarter in NBA history:
Brian K. Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel felt that such an anemic offensive output shouldn't have been too startling given the two teams' struggles this year:
"15 points by Knicks and Magic in period sets NBA record. Nobody should be surprised after teams combed for 40 wins coming in.

CBS Sports' Matt Moore countered that there's no reason for scoring just seven points against the moribund Knicks:
Both teams exited the playoff hunt long ago, with fans only able to look forward to the offseason, specifically the NBA draft.
At least Saturday's 80-79 Knicks victory gave everybody something to talk about.
