Toronto Raptors vs. Miami Heat: Live Score, Highlights and Reaction

Matthew SchmidtApr 11, 2015

Lou Williams scored 29 points off the bench and hit a dagger three-pointer with 31.2 seconds remaining to lift the Toronto Raptors to a 107-104 win over the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena Saturday night, all but ending the Heat's playoff hopes.

With the loss, the Heat fell three losses behind the Brooklyn Nets for the Eastern Conference's eighth and final playoff spot.

This was a tight affair all the way through, with neither team managing to gain a double-digit lead.

The score was tied at 58 at halftime, and the Heat actually led for most of the third period. It wasn't until early in the fourth quarter that the Raptors took control.

Toronto's bench was able to make up for subpar nights from Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas. In addition to Williams' outburst, Greivis Vasquez scored 12 points and Patrick Patterson chipped in 11.

DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors starters with 24.

Lowry shot just 3-of-14 and Valanciunas fouled out in only 10 minutes of action. The Toronto big man had a tremendously difficult time defending Hassan Whiteside, who went for 16 points, 18 rebounds and six blocks in the defeat.

Dwyane Wade paced Miami with 30 points, but struggles from the free-throw line doomed the Heat.

Miami went just 24-of-44 from the charity stripe, with Whiteside going only 4-of-16. Both Wade and Luol Deng missed free throws late that could have made a difference in the outcome.

The Raptors made 28 of their 37 foul shots.

Toronto will continue its quest to grab the East's No. 3 seed when it travels northward to take on the surging Boston Celtics Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, Miami will host the Orlando Magic Monday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
