Barbosa Out vs. Blazers
Thursday, April 9
Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle reported the news:
Barbosa, 32, is averaging seven points and 1.5 assists per game this season. The Warriors will likely rely on reserves Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala to pick up the majority of minutes that would have otherwise gone to Barbosa.
While the severity of his injury is unclear, there is no reason for Warriors coach Steve Kerr to risk putting him out on the floor. Golden State has already locked up home-court advantage, making its remaining handful of contests little more than tune-ups for the postseason run. Resting Barbosa, the oldest player in Kerr's regular rotation, makes a ton of sense given the Warriors are back in action Saturday.
Assuming it's just minor discomfort, expect Barbosa back in the lineup when Golden State hosts Minnesota this weekend.
