Kendall Gill Fondly Remembers Provoking Michael Jordan's Posterizing Wrath

Of all the ways to measure the greatness of an athlete, the most telling might be when other players take pride in recounting how the great ones destroyed them on the field of play.

If this is the rule, Michael Jordan has a library of testimonials to his legacy that grows bigger by the day.

The latest nostalgic hat tip to Jordan comes courtesy of former Charlotte Hornets guard and newsroom boxing enthusiast Kendall Gill, who took to Instagram Thursday to reminisce on the time he and his teammates incited Michael Jordan into snatching their souls.

Gill posted a video of Jordan dunking all over Alonzo Mourning.

He captioned the footage with a story explaining the situation. Gill claims he, Mourning and Larry Johnson were rookies in the league and, in a fit of bravado, poked a slumbering bear.

Me, Larry Johnson, and Alonzo Mourning were young upcoming guns in the league. We were feeling ourselves in this game because we were giving it to the Bulls. After this play our Wild oats quickly became shredded wheats! Alonzo had just blocked 2 of the Bulls shots. We started talking smack. I could [sense] MJ getting mad because We were matched up against each other. I didn't give a crap though because I was young, dumb and didn't know any better. MJ back doored me out of the triangle offense and put Zo on his collection of posters. Lol. Moral of this story? Callin out the Devil is one thing. Facing him is another! Never tug on Superman's cape unless you're absolutely ready! Did you hear me Pacman?
