Rose Will Play vs. Bucks
Saturday, April 18
Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago reported Rose will play on Saturday in the team's Game 1 clash with the Bucks.
Rose sat out the second half of Wednesday's win due to soreness in his left knee, according to Friedell.
With that said, Friedell reported that no MRI is scheduled, so Bulls fans shouldn't be overly concerned. In fact, the point guard was merely playing it safe, per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune:
On Friday, head coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters that Rose and Joakim Noah, who sat out the Bulls' final two regular-season games, practiced fully. He also said both players would see "roughly the same minutes they've been playing," according to Johnson.
Rose's injury history is a familiar tale to even the most casual of basketball fans. He tore his ACL in his left knee during the opening game of the 2012 playoffs, missed the entire 2012-13 season and then only played in 10 games in the 2013-14 campaign before suffering another season-ending injury, this time a torn medial meniscus in his right knee.
The bad luck did not stop this year, as Rose missed significant time with a re-tear of his right meniscus, but he returned late in the regular season after surgery.
He was the 2008-09 Rookie of the Year, the 2010-11 NBA MVP and is one of the most explosive players in the league when at his best. In an ideal world, the Bulls would look his way in the closing moments of critical playoff games.
The Bulls will begin the 2015 playoffs on Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks. It will mark Rose's first postseason game since the 2011-12 season.
