After Stanford's Anthony Brown made one of two free throws, Miami's Sheldon McClellan missed another three as time expired to secure the win for the Cardinal.
It was the program's third NIT title. The Stanford Hoops Twitter account congratulated its team.
Randle was named tournament MVP, and he joined Dave Ryan of Westwood One Sports for an interview after the game.
Randle led all scorers with 25 points, but he got plenty of help. Brown and Marcus Allen each snagged double-digit rebounds to help propel the Cardinal to a 45-39 edge on the glass. Here's a look at the box score, per ESPN.

It was a tale of two halves, as Stanford jumped out to an 11-point lead before the intermission. However, the Hurricanes came storming back in the second half. McClellan sank his own pair of clutch free throws with 16 seconds remaining in regulation.

The shots made the score 59-59, and Brown missed a three at the end of the fourth quarter that would have given the Cardinal the win in regulation.
The excitement got ahold of Hurricanes alum and NFL great Michael Irvin. Sports Illustrated captured The Playmaker cheering on Omar Sherman's game-tying free throws in the fourth quarter.
After that display of emotion, Irvin might have to change his nickname to the Facemaker.
Things looked bleak for the Cardinal midway through overtime. McClellan came up with a steal and dunk with just over two minutes left to give Miami a 62-61 lead. McClellan would turn another Stanford turnover into a basket with 1:03 left in overtime, as he dished to Davon Reed for a layup that gave Miami a 64-61 advantage.
From there, Randle would take over the final minute of the game. He took the ball to the basket on two occasions, drawing fouls from Reed both times. The senior leader calmly sank four free throws with less than a minute remaining to spur the Cardinal to victory.
While making the NCAA tournament was obviously the Cardinal's top priority this season, the NIT Championship proved to be a solid consolation prize. It was also a nice way to send off seniors like Randle in their final collegiate game.
