2015 Cleveland Browns Schedule: Full Listing of Dates, Times and TV Info

Mike ChiariApr 21, 2015

The 2014 season was the Cleveland Browns' best since 2007 as they posted a 7-9 record, but they will look to improve upon that in 2015 against a schedule that could prove to be quite favorable.

Cleveland certainly made some strides during its first season under head coach Mike Pettine; however, the Browns are littered with question marks, especially at the quarterback position with the likes of veteran Josh McCown and second-year man Johnny Manziel battling for the starting job.

The Browns have something to build upon this year, though, and their schedule doesn't necessarily look overly arduous on paper. With that said, here is the full rundown of Cleveland's 2015 schedule as well as a look at some of its most intriguing games.

Top Matchups to Watch

Cleveland Browns at Kansas City Chiefs

A matchup between the Browns and Chiefs may not seem overly exciting on the surface, but it becomes much more interesting when considering the fact that wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has made the jump from Kansas City to Cleveland.

Bowe enjoyed eight mostly productive seasons with the Chiefs, but he struggled in 2014 to the tune of 754 yards and no touchdowns. That ultimately led to the two sides parting ways and Bowe signing on to anchor the Browns' receiving corps.

Despite his subpar 2014 performance, Bowe feels good about his chances of bouncing back in Cleveland, according to NFL on ESPN:

He also believes that the Browns' offensive scheme will accentuate his strengths more than the Chiefs' did last season, per Keith Britton of 92.3 The Fan:

Bowe has been fairly vocal, so although he was a key part of Kansas City's success for years, it is unclear how the fans will react to him.

Chiefs fans are known for being some of the most intense in the NFL, and Bowe will have to oppose them for the first time in his career. That should make for a fun atmosphere, and it will almost certainly cause Bowe to enter the game with a chip on his shoulder.

Cleveland Browns vs. Denver Broncos

If the Browns are going to end their 12-season playoff drought in 2015, then they need to learn how to perform well against the AFC's elite teams. They will get that opportunity when they host the Denver Broncos.

Although Denver's 2014 season didn't end as expected, it will be a contender once again in 2015 thanks to the presence of stars such as quarterback Peyton Manning, wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and pass-rushers Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware. If the Browns can compete with that much talent, then they may be on the right track.

This game will be a great test for Pettine's defense, but it will also be important for the uncertain Cleveland offense to put points on the board. That means either McCown or Manziel will have to be up to the task and get some help from the likes of Bowe, wide receiver Andrew Hawkins and running backs Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West among others.

In addition to that, the Browns and Broncos have a long history together with Cleveland often coming out on the wrong end. Perhaps the best example of that was "The Drive" game won by Denver in 1986, which NFL Network tabbed as one of the greatest games of all time:

Although that game took place nearly 30 years ago, it is still a sore subject for many Browns fans. Beating Denver in the regular season won't erase the memory, but it could start the healing process as well as a march toward the playoffs.

Cleveland Browns at Seattle Seahawks

As challenging as a home game against the Broncos promises to be, the toughest game on Cleveland's schedule will be its road clash with the defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks are difficult to beat anywhere, but they are nearly impossible to take down at home. They boast perhaps the most dominant defense in the league, and they continue to get better on offense as well with quarterback Russell Wilson developing and the acquisition of tight end Jimmy Graham.

Also, there is a slight link between the two teams, as Seattle signed former Browns defensive lineman Ahtyba Rubin. Doug Farrar of Sports Illustrated believes he could be a great fit on the Seattle defense:

When the Browns travel to the Pacific Northwest, though, they won't be focused on their former players. They will simply be worried about keeping pace with arguably the NFL's most complete team.

If the Browns acquit themselves well regardless of the result, that could give them a ton of confidence and momentum in 2015.
