DeMarcus Cousins Records Historic Stat Line Equaled by Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Bleacher Report MilestonesApr 2, 2015

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins had 24 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists, six blocks and three steals in Wednesday's 115-111 loss to the Houston Rockets, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only players (since blocks became an official stat in 1973-74) to record 20-plus points, 20-plus rebounds, 10-plus assists and five-plus blocks in the same game, per Elias Sports Bureau (via NBA.com/stats).

On a night full of incredible performances across the NBA, Cousins' stat line stands out above all the others, even with Houston Rockets guard James Harden scoring a career-high 51 points to beat Boogie's Kings, while Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul had 41 points and 17 assists in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Although he only made 11 of his 25 field-goal attempts and two of his six free-throw attempts, the 24-year-old center more than made up for it with a remarkably well-rounded stat line.

Per ESPN Stats & Info, Cousins led the Kings or tied for the team lead in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, turnovers (five), fouls (four), field-goal attempts and free-throw attempts, playing a game-high 39 minutes to get there.

While Kings head coach George Karl has indicated that Cousins will get some rest as his team plays out the stretch, it's quite clear the imposing center will still be his usual self when on the court.
