NBA.com: Napier Surgery Successful

Wednesday, Apr. 1

According to an official release from NBA.com, Napier had surgery in Miami to repair a sports hernia with the team announcing he's going to miss the final eight games of the regular season:

Napier didn't make the splash many Heat fans were hoping he would during his rookie season. He was drafted 24th overall by the Charlotte Hornets before being traded to Miami. The 23-year-old has averaged 5.1 points and 2.5 assists in 51 games played.

The Heat are still in the playoff mix, despite being 34-40, currently sitting seventh in the Eastern Conference. It's not mentioned in the release if Napier would be available if Miami makes the postseason.
