Under Armour Curry One 'Underdog' Release Date Schedule, Pics and Retail Price
Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Under Armour celebrate a rise to the top from underdog status this week with the release of Curry's aptly named signature shoe, the Curry One "Underdog."
Basketball enthusiasts will recall Curry wasn't the most sought-after recruit but thrust himself into households around the globe with a memorable run in the Big Dance with Davidson.
Projected as a niche pro, the NBA Three-Point Shootout champion and two-time NBA All-Star redefines the point guard position on a nightly basis with elite court vision and shooting.
In similar fashion, Under Armour rose up beneath big dogs such as Nike and Adidas via football before the marriage with Curry.

Call it the perfect fit, like a Curry no-look dime to an open man on a drive.
Curry's signature shoe is a modern beauty, featuring a metallic silver with steel red accents—colors sure to remind most of Curry's alma mater, Davidson—and a reflective logo. Foot Locker EU provided an early look:

Not shown is the word "underdog" on the inside tongue. The three circles represent "his family and belief in himself," according to Dime Magazine.

Under Armour, of course, is going big to drive up demand, even pulling in longtime supporter Jamie Foxx for a commercial promoting the Baby-faced Assassin's latest shoe, as Under Armour Hoops captures:
Also of note is the shoe's Charged Cushioning, which absorbs impact and provides a burst to the athlete. Further foam inside the shoe provides even more flexibility for athletes to move with burst and speed.
Justin Tejada of Complex broke down what the new technology inside of the shoe means for the future:
"All of the innovations add up to a shoe that is greater than the sum of its parts. It might just be the best-fitting basketball sneaker ever. Under Armour designers didn’t just pay attention to the outside of the shoe, they focused on what was inside as well. The heel panel wraps around the Achilles and fills in the gaps so that the tendon is protected. The heel counter is external to lock down the back of the foot, while still allowing the Anafoam to shroud the heel and provide additional support.

Under Armour offered another look at the shoe on Instagram back in January. To the left is "Candy Reign," which is already available and an ode to Curry's sweet tooth, as Tejada notes. On the right is "Father to Son," which drops June 20 and features the Charlotte Hornets' colors, a team his father, Dell, played for during his pro days:
Curry's first signature line and its many colorways continue to roll off store shelves at an eye-popping rate. Each one paints a different picture of Curry's life and offers innovation from a performance standpoint.
The "Underdog" is the latest example, an all-encompassing look at his journey to this point—with one sleek design and color scheme for good measure.
