Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Utah Jazz: Live Score, Highlights and Reaction

John DornMar 28, 2015

In the first half, this outcome seemed as improbable as ever. But the Utah Jazz managed to crawl out from a 16-point hole to upset the Oklahoma City Thunder, 94-89.

After crawling out of the gate, the Jazz outscored OKC 73-57 after the first quarter. Fueled by one of Trey Burke's better performances of the season—22 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals—Utah controlled the pace through all of the second half, leading by as many as 13.

Enes Kanter was both verbally and physically harassed in his Salt Lake City homecoming. He logged his eighth straight double-double, going for 18 and 11 in his 34 minutes, but on the losing end.

To Trevor Booker, Kanter's former teammate, it wasn't a surprise.

Russell Westbrook also shined for the Thunder once again, posting 37 points, eight rebound and six assists, but turning the ball over nine times. Oklahoma City as a team turned it over 23 times, to Utah's 12.

Gordon Hayward shot just 4-of-16, but finished with 17 points. Rudy Gobert ended up with 13 points and 15 boards, while Booker scored 12 to go along with five rebounds and five assists.

The loss drops Oklahoma City to 41-32, but still maintains a 2.5-game advantage over ninth-place New Orleans. They next travel to the desert Sunday to take on the Phoenix Suns, who are also in the hunt for that final playoff seed in the West.

Now 32-41, the Jazz are working to finish the season strong, and will likely finish 11th in the conference, behind the 10 legitimate playoff contenders. The win snaps a four-game losing skid, and they'll look to continue their winning ways Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
