Daily Fantasy Basketball 2015: Best NBA DFS DraftKings Lineup for March 27
The NBA playoff picture is rounding into form, and daily fantasy basketball grinders couldn't care less. The Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic, two teams that are closer to elimination than the eighth seed, are where it is at as we help you set your best DraftKings lineup for Friday, March 27.
PG Reggie Jackson, Detroit Pistons ($8,000)
He has been the hottest name in daily fantasy for the past 10 days, averaging over 45 DraftKings points and only now having his price rise to $8,000. He will also be facing the Orlando Magic, who are 27th at DraftKings against point guards.
Brendan Savage of MLive.com reports there is something behind Jackson's hot hand(s), as Jackson explained how he keeps his basketball hands warm:
"I found out in OKC I had a problem with my hands getting extremely cold. Once I started running, I started losing feeling in my extremities and the Oklahoma City training staff, and especially (head trainer) Joe Sharpe, found a way to get me hand warmers and keep my hands warm so I can keep feeling the ball.
I'd get out of the game and my hands would get to the point where they were literally freezing. They're basically winter gloves but from a hunting store. They got hand warmers in them. You push a button on them and they keep my hands nice and warm and keep me ready for the game. ...
Maybe keeps the ball hot for my teammates to stay hot. They've been shooting lights out and hopefully keep it up.
"
We will buy it...even for a season-high $8,000 now.
- Jordan Clarkson, Los Angeles Lakers ($5,300)
- Tyreke Evans, New Orleans Pelicans ($7,600)
- Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers ($9,900)
SG Victor Oladipo, Orlando Magic ($7,900)
He has cooled off from his hot stretch earlier this month, but this is a good night to buy back in on him. The Magic face the Pistons in what should be a competitive game until the end, not to mention the Pistons are just 26th at DraftKings against shooting guards. This could be a 25-5-5 performance coming back to him, so go with Oladipo if you fear James Harden (11,600) getting some minutes off against the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves.
- DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors ($7,800)
- Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors ($7,000)
SF Andrew Wiggins, Minnesota Timberwolves ($6,500)
Wiggins is more scorer than a true daily fantasy stat-stuffer, but he has been scoring enough to put up big DraftKings nights in the second half of the season, particularly last time out (27 real points, 48 fantasy points). The matchup against the Houston Rockets should be a good one because this should be a wide-open offensive game.
- Rudy Gay, Sacramento Kings ($7,700)
- LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers ($10,200)
PF Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans ($11,200)
Harden and James get NBA headlines, but Davis is the daily fantasy maven of late among this trio of Friday night studs. Davis has generally been good for 25-12, throwing some monster performances in there against the overmatched likes of the Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons. The Kings are 29th in the NBA in scoring defense, per DraftKings stats splits on his player page.
This could be a 70-plus fantasy night here. Let's call him American Express: Don't set your fantasy lineup without him.
- Derrick Favors, Utah Jazz ($8,100)
- Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers ($7,000)
C Andre Drummond, Detroit Pistons ($8,600)
We tried to avoid being too bullish on the Magic-Pistons game, but Drummond is yet another premium player to consider from a game that means little in NBA terms, but plenty in the daily fantasy realm. Drummond has trumped 55-plus DraftKings points in each of his past two games, and this opponent (19th against centers) should provide him with another chance to "Barbara Walters" (20-20).
- Brook Lopez, Brooklyn Nets ($7,100)
- Nikola Vucevic, Orlando Magic ($7,800)
- DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers ($8,300)
