Young to Play vs. Pacers
Tuesday, March 31
The Nets announced that Young would play against the Pacers on Tuesday night. Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated reported coach Lionel Hollins says Young will start the contest. Tim Bontemps of the New York Post revealed there would be no minutes restrictions for Young.
On March 26, Devin Kharpertian of thebrooklyngame.com reported that Young's MRI revealed a strain. As a result, he is reportedly out for Friday's matchup against Cleveland and doubtful for Sunday's game against the Lakers.
Tim Bontemps of the New York Post reported Young would not return against the Hornets on March 25:
Young, 26, had 11 points and four rebounds before exiting. Miles Plumlee replaced him in the game.
After the Nets' 91-88 win over the Hornets, Young discussed his injury, via Rod Boone of Newsday:
Acquired in a trade for Kevin Garnett at the deadline, Young has averaged 13.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game since arriving in Brooklyn. He's also expanded his role as the month has gone on, increasing his minutes and joining the starting lineup full-time.
The Nets will most likely use Plumlee, who can slide into the power forward slot, as Young's primary replacement. Cory Jefferson should also see extended minutes off the bench if Young misses time.
