G Cameron Payne, Murray State ($10,000)

There is simply no substitute for a college player scoring nearly 40 points on a consistent basis. Cameron Payne may come at a high price, but he's the only guard to target at the No. 1 position.

Just how talented is Payne? One Eastern Conference scout recently spoke about him as an NBA target, via Mitch Lawrence of Forbes.

“He’s shown he could have played at Memphis or other big schools in bigger conferences,’’ the scout said. “He’s very competitive and he can score. Fans might not have heard of him because he’s not exactly playing in the limelight. But that should change at draft time.’’

At 35.1 fantasy points per game this season, Payne is the only player averaging over 30 available on Monday night. The second-best option at guard is Old Dominion's Trey Freeman, who suffered a sprained ankle and might not play, according to Ed Miller of The Virginia-Pilot. This is an obvious choice, people: Pick up Payne and fill out the lineup from there.

G Raheem Appleby, Louisiana Tech ($6,000)

Haven't had a chance to watch Louisiana Tech play this season? The Bulldogs weren't able to make the field of 68, but they still have a star in Raheem Appleby that can help complete your lineup on Monday night.

The senior is clearly not happy with just finishing his career as a strong player, instead wanting to go out on a high note. With over 22 points in two of his last four games and an average of 15.4 points per game this season, Appleby will be a dependable second or third guard to supplement a player like Payne.

Given the fact that the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer, Alex Hamilton, has been somewhat off recently with just four points in their NIT opener, tab Appleby and expect great production.

F Kourtney Roberson, Texas A&M ($6,800)

ATLANTA, GA - MARCH 13: Keanau Post #45 of the Missouri Tigers battles for a rebound against Kourtney Roberson #14 and Jamal Jones #23 of the Texas A&M Aggies during the second round of the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament at Georgia Dome on March 13, 201

Over the course of Kourtney Roberson's career at Texas A&M, the forward has never averaged over 10 points per game. His numbers aren't flashy, but he hauls in rebounds and gets enough buckets to warrant slotting him as a No. 1 forward.

Monday night doesn't offer quite the same quality of players at the forward position as the guards. However, affording Payne means not going after the top forward in Murray State's Jarvis Williams.

If Payne goes for over 30 fantasy points and Roberson can finish somewhere between 15-20, consider this a successful trade-off on Monday night. Don't hold out hope for a 20-point night from Roberson, but the senior will certainly put on a show and contribute for fantasy owners.

F Reggie Lynch, Illinois State ($5,700)

Similar to several other NIT teams, Illinois State hasn't exactly been in the spotlight this year. But with Reggie Lynch coming on strong down the stretch, the Redbirds have a potent weapon for DraftKings players to target.

Over his last four games, Lynch has not seen his fantasy points dip below 15 once, and has gone for 21 or more three different times. Whether it's his scoring or rebounding ability, Lynch will definitely outplay his value and should put up more points than other, more costly forwards in the NIT.

UTIL Jeffery Moss, Murray State ($5,000)

Thanks in large part to an off game to start the NIT, Jeffery Moss' price tag is low for Monday night. Averaging 20 fantasy point this season, there's no reason not to add Moss at a utility spot.

Even against a Tulsa team that allows just 60 points per game, Moss and Payne will put on a show. The Racers feature the 11th-ranked offense in the country, averaging 79.1 points thanks to Moss' 11 points per game. Expect more of the same from the reliable guard to supplement the scoring of Payne.
