Drummond Records His 10th 20-Rebound Game of 2014-15 Season
Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond grabbed 22 rebounds in Sunday's 105-97 win over the Boston Celtics, giving him 10 games with 20 or more boards this season, per ESPN Stats & Info.
Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan has also produced 10 such games, while no other player has more than four, per Basketball-Reference.com's play index.
In fact, only seven players have turned in multiple 20-board games this season, with Drummond and Jordan joined by Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside (four), Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (three), Dallas Mavericks center Tyson Chandler (two), Detroit Pistons forward Greg Monroe (two) and Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph (two).
Last season, Drummond and Jordan tied for the NBA lead with seven such games, but 11 different players had multiple 20-board performances, per Basketball-Reference.com's play index.
Going back to 1985-86, Dennis Rodman is responsible for four of the five seasons featuring 20 or more games with 20-plus boards, highlighted by a 1991-92 campaign in which he accomplished the feat a remarkable 39 times, per Basketball-Reference.com's play index.
The only other player with 20 such games in a single season was Kevin Willis, who had exactly 20 for the Atlanta Hawks in 1991-92.
While Jordan and Drummond don't have time to add 10 more 20-board games to their respective ledgers this season, it isn't too hard to imagine one of them reaching the mark at some point in the coming years.
