The Wizards began the game with a collective hot hand, shooting above 60 percent for much of the first half. For Portland, LaMarcus Aldridge scored a game-high 24 points—the bulk of which came in the final quarter where he carried the team to a near comeback. He also grabbed 12 rebounds. Aaron Afflalo added 15, serving as the primary catalyst behind the team's third-quarter revival.
Damian Lillard struggled to the tune of 14 points on 5-of-18 shooting. He logged nine assists.
Despite the Blazers' turnaround, Washington kept its composure and rebounded with big plays at much-needed moments.
