Sting and Undertaker Will Tease a Match
For the first time in WrestleMania history, Sting and The Undertaker will be billed on the same card. With each man expected to win his respective match, the hope from many fans is that the two supernatural characters will come face to face.
The two legends standing toe to toe would set the stage for a WrestleMania 32 match.
For Sting, fighting Triple H was the perfect way for him to make his debut in the WWE. Not only did it explain why he showed up now, but it also provided closure for many of the wrestling fans who loved the WCW brand.
On the other hand, Undertaker has become synonymous with WrestleMania. The WWE will be looking to sell out the AT&T Stadium next year, and there are few matches with the selling power of Sting vs. Undertaker.
After both men win their matches, the two Superstars must cross paths and tease next year’s bout.
Brock Lesnar Successfully Retains World Title
The main event of WrestleMania 31 is the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between defending champion Lesnar and 2015 Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns.
While every sign over the last several months has pointed to Roman Reigns walking out of the PPV with the title, the WWE potentially re-signing Lesnar to a new long-term contract should result in him retaining the championship in a stunning victory.
There is a vast portion of the WWE’s fanbase that doesn’t believe Reigns is ready to carry the company right now, and taking a stunning loss may be the experience he needs to climb the ladder once again and fulfill his potential.
Lesnar is the most dominant champion in recent wrestling history, and he is coming off a victory over The Undertaker at last year’s WrestleMania. A win this year would put him in a league of his own and make the eventual victory over him even more special.
Whether it’s at SummerSlam or via a Money in the Bank cash-in attempt, losing the belt later in the year would be a huge moment. In the meantime, shocking the WWE Universe with an unexpected victory is smart booking.
Damien Mizdow Wins Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
One of the most entertaining storylines of the last year is the relationship between The Miz and his former stunt double, Damien Mizdow. It’s now time for Mizdow to spread his wings and fly by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
Miz and Mizdow have been teasing tension for weeks. There are many announced Superstars in the Battle Royal, but it is the angle between the former tag team champions involving their breakup that is being booked as the primary program.
With Miz constantly attacking Mizdow physically and mentally, the WWE Universe is waiting for the moment the mistreated star finally gets the upper hand. If and when Mizdow throws Miz over the top rope to win the trophy, this would be a career-defining victory.
