Jeremiyah Love's Surprising Quote About Being 'Tired' Goes Viral After Cardinals' Loss to Giants

After finishing with just 63 rushing yards on 14 carries in Sunday's 36-24 loss to the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love raised some eyebrows by uttering a word that young players typically avoid.

Love revealed to reporters after the game that his body felt "tired" as he continues to adjust to having his snaps managed to start his NFL career.

"My body sometimes is down," Love said. "Sometimes tired. So it's just managing those things. And coaches know that. This is probably gonna be the longest year of my life. I just want to manage that workload. So today just obviously making sure to keep an eye on managing me. But I didn't go out there hurt anything or anything like that. They're doing what they need to do to keep me up so that I can finish the season."

In his first four NFL games, Love has registered fewer than 15 carries three times and hasn't surpassed the 100-yard mark. He had career highs of 21 carries and 90 rushing yards in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers, but he failed to carry that momentum into Sunday's game against the Giants. He was seen on the sidelines having his ankle worked on by a trainer during the third quarter.

While Love downplayed any injury concerns, he admitted that he doesn't feel like the same version of himself he was last season at Notre Dame, though he made it clear that his frustration is with himself and not with the coaching staff.

"I'm really frustrated with myself because I just want to be good," Love told reporters. "I want to be 100 percent and I want to go out there and do what I need to do. Not saying I'm not 100 percent, but I'm not where I want to be. I'm not able to go out there and do spectacular plays every single time or stuff like that. So, just frustrated with myself, not with the coaches, but they're doing a great job of managing me."

Things could get a little easier for Love and the Cardinals in Week 5, as they will be facing a Detroit Lions team that is allowing 119.8 rushing yards per game and a league-worst 31.8 points per game. A big performance from the 2026 No. 3 pick could help Arizona snap its three-game skid.
