Detroit Pistons vs. Portland Trail Blazers: Live Score, Highlights and Reaction
Damian Lillard scored 28 points, LaMarcus Aldridge added 22 and the Portland Trail Blazers routed the Detroit Pistons, 118-99, at the Moda Center Friday night, sending the Pistons to their ninth straight loss.
The Blazers got out to a big lead right from the get-go, taking a 35-24 lead after the first quarter. Lillard scored 13 points in the period, burying three three-pointers.
The lead ballooned to 64-46 at halftime, and the closest Detroit ever trimmed the deficit to afterward was 12.
Portland got production from up and down the lineup, with Arron Afflalo chipping in 15 points and even Meyers Leonard contributing 15 off the bench. Leonard went 6-of-7 from the floor and hit a pair of triples.
The Blazers shot 57 percent as a team, going 11-of-21 from three-point range.
Detroit was not nearly as efficient.
The Pistons hit on only 45 percent of their shots and went 7-of-25 from long distance. Greg Monroe was the high-point man with 19, and Andre Drummond posted 16 points and 17 rebounds.
In the fourth quarter, with the game already decided, Detroit forward Shawne Williams and Portland big man Joel Freeland got into a scuffle. Williams headbutted Freeland, and Freeland retaliated with a headbutt of his own.
Both players were ejected.
The Pistons will try to end their nine-game skid when they visit the Utah Jazz on Saturday night at 9 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Blazers will look to win their eighth contest in nine tries when they travel up north to battle the Toronto Raptors Sunday night at 7 p.m. ET.
