Duke vs. UNC: Dick Vitale Won't Call 2nd 2015 Matchup for ESPN
One of college basketball's most recognizable voices won't be on the call for one of college basketball's most storied rivalries.
According to a press release from ESPN, Dick Vitale will not be at the announcer's table on Saturday, March 7 when Duke visits North Carolina. Instead, Dan Shulman will be on the play-by-play, while Jay Bilas handles the color commentary.
Vitale, a legendary voice in the sport, is perhaps most famous for his work during the Tobacco Road rivalry, but he missed the famous game for the first time since 1979 when the teams met a couple of weeks ago.

The 75-year-old referenced his age when searching for a reason as to why he wasn't used during the famous game:
"@richarddeitsch perception -when U r in 70's club U must move over 4 young dudes-PROB is there R guys like Brent & me who R still fired up
— Dick Vitale (@DickieV) February 20, 2015"
He hoped that it was only a one-time thing, saying "heck I'd crawl to Chapel Hill if bosses assigned me game." Alas, he is once again out of ESPN's plans for the ACC regular season finale.
Shulman and Bilas are certainly capable of putting on a entertaining broadcast, and Bilas is one of the most knowledge announcers in the game, but Duke vs. UNC just isn't quite the same without Dickie V.
