Polee Sits vs. Boise State Due to Setback

Saturday, Feb. 28

Mark Zeigler of U-T San Diego reported that Polee did not dress Saturday vs. Boise State because Polee, according to an SDSU spokesperson, "returned “abnormal” readings from an implanted cardiac monitor and is having his medication “adjusted.” The spokesman said Polee is out indefinitely but the team is “hopeful” he will receive medical clearance to play again in his final collegiate season."

Polee Returns to Floor For First Time Since Collapsing

Tuesday, Feb. 24

Polee played 13 minutes and scored three points in the Aztecs' 74-56 win over San Jose State on Saturday. It was his first competitive game since he collapsed during a meeting with UC Riverside back on December 22. He was quickly tended to by medical personnel and carried off the court on a gurney.

Polee and SDSU head coach Steve Fisher discussed his return after Saturday's victory.

Some might wonder if it's a good idea for Polee to play in game situations again. To the contrary, he remains confident that he's not putting himself in harm's way, per Zeigler:

"

The main doctor I've been working with, Dr. Doug Gibson, he broke it down for my mom and me, that this isn’t life threatening and that even if it were to happen again—and he doesn't think it will—it's 100 percent not life threatening. I've seen six doctors. They all said the same thing.

"

Polee is averaging eight points and 2.6 rebounds per game this year.
