Kevin Durant Reveals His Thoughts on the 'You the Real MVP' Meme
"You the real MVP."
That line was said with a lot of emotion, but it has turned into an Internet craze.
Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant included that signature line during his acceptance speech for the 2013-14 NBA MVP award. During that speech, Durant called his mom the real MVP because he wouldn't be where he is today without her.

It was an incredibly touching moment that saw a son try to hold back tears as he thanked his mother. If it's not the most emotional speech ever given by a professional athlete, it certainly ranks near the top of the list.
However, what happened next caught Durant by surprise.
The Internet had a blast with the "You the real MVP" line and has turned it into a meme that is used anytime something good happens in a person's life.
Imagine being Durant and seeing such an emotional moment being turned into a joke. How would that feel?
In a feature done by GQ's Zach Baron, the Thunder forward revealed how he felt when he started seeing the memes pop up on the Internet:
"I was like, man, that was a real emotional moment for me, and you making a joke about it! Like: Damn. Y'all don't really believe in s--t. You don't have no morals or nothing. You don't care about nothing but just making fun.
I was serious as hell saying that, you know what I'm saying?
"
Seeing the memes everywhere probably ate at him at first. However, he eventually just let it go.
"But after a while, it's all good," Durant added.
