Oklahoma ended the game on a 13-5 run to come from behind and beat Texas 71-69, completing the season sweep in the Red River Rivalry.
The Longhorns appeared to be in control for much of the game but the Sooners kept it close before coming on strong late. Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports gave a lot of credit to the coaching performance:

Of course, the players deserve a lot of credit with a balanced effort offensively. All seven of the players who scored finished with between eight and 13 points. Jordan Woodward led the way with 13 to go with five assists and two steals.
Texas saw freshman Myles Turner come through with another huge performance, totaling 17 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks for his second double-double in a row. Unfortunately, key players Jonathan Holmes and Isaiah Taylor combined to go just 3-of-19 from the field in the disappointing loss.
Chris Hummer of 247 Sports sums up the thought process for the road team:
For much of the game, it seemed like Texas would be able to pull off the road upset. It started things off by changing up its defensive strategy, which kept Oklahoma off guard:
Without contributions from its key players, the Sooners were clearly struggling to pull away like they did in early January, as noted by Guerin Emig of Tulsa Word:
Although Oklahoma was able to get back ahead for a 33-32 lead going into halftime, Cedric Golden of the Austin American-Statesman argued Texas should be happy with the way it played:
The second half saw Texas once again regain the lead thanks to some great play inside, via Cliff Brunt of the Associated Press:
Despite facing some tough shots (and a lot of rejections), the Sooners kept the game close by avoiding turnovers and getting the most out of their possessions. While the stars were struggling, a balanced attack allowed the home team to stay competitive.
The Longhorns appeared ready to pull away thanks to an impressive run by Turner, as described by ESPN's Paul Biancardi:
However, even this wasn't enough thanks to some contributions from the bench, as noted by Ryan Aber of The Oklahoman:
Mike Leslie of ESPN730 explained the sequence that led to Oklahoma taking the late lead in the second half:
This was part of a 10-0 run by the Sooners to take control of the game in the final minutes. David Ubben of Fox Sports Southwest broke down the difference:
Quality free-throw shooting down the stretch helped Oklahoma take a five-point advantage before a meaningless three-pointer by Holmes cut the final score to two.
Texas had been playing well lately, but the latest loss drops the squad to 6-7 in the loaded Big 12 conference and firmly on the NCAA bubble.
Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger discussed before the game the difficulties of playing in this league, via Trent Crabtree of The Oklahoma Daily:
"From the start, we’ve said that we have 18 really tough games and we have to treat all of them like it’s the only game and not let a winning streak or losing streak affect the next one. Big 12 play is hard and everyone is trying really hard. The guys that are trying really hard are also really good.
"
The Sooners will seemingly get an easier matchup next game against Texas Tech, but the last-place team has provided some tough battles at home and is always capable of an upset if the visiting team isn't prepared.
For Texas, this game was the start of a brutal stretch that includes upcoming games against Iowa State, West Virginia, Kansas and Baylor. Such is life in the Big 12, but some of these will have to be wins for the Longhorns to earn a bid to the NCAA tournament.
