Daily Fantasy College Basketball 2015: DraftKings Bargain Picks for Feb. 14
If you want the top players in daily fantasy, you have to find a way to balance them out with some cheaper options.
At this point in the college basketball season, we know which players are going to perform at a high level. Ohio State's D'Angelo Russell has been a statistical marvel all year and can help any fantasy team, but Saturday on DraftKings he will cost a whopping $10,700.
Putting all this money down might be worth it, though, if you select one of these bargain options for each Valentine's Day contest.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Early Afternoon
Tony Parker, UCLA ($5,600)

Kevon Looney might be the bigger NBA prospect in the UCLA frontcourt, but Tony Parker has outplayed his teammate in recent games.
Parker has totaled a combined 35 points and 17 rebounds in his last two games and is using his size (6'9", 260 pounds) to become a force down low. With Oregon not having anyone in its rotation taller than 6'7", the big man should be able to keep grabbing rebounds and finishing easy baskets.
This should be a high-scoring battle with plenty of points to go around, and Parker will be a relatively cheap option to fill up the box score.
Isaiah Hicks, North Carolina ($4,700)
A start against Boston College gave Isaiah Hicks a chance to show what he can do with increased minutes, and he did not disappoint. The sophomore scored a career-high 21 points with five rebounds to help North Carolina earn the 79-68 win.
Although Kennedy Meeks is going to take away some minutes, Hicks' defensive play will keep him on the court. Roy Williams recently gave the forward some praise, via Matt Oakes of Chapelboro.com:
"Defensively, he’s won the defensive player of the game I think more than anybody on our team. He’s been trying to do some good things. You lose two in a row, you can’t say everything’s rosy. I wasn’t ready to jump off the building, but you got to try something different.
"
With Desmond Hubert going down for the year with a torn ACL, even more minutes will be available for Hicks. At this price, Hicks has a good chance to give you some value against a Pittsburgh team that struggles to defend the low post.
| Nemanja Djurisic | Georgia | $5,700 |
| Dillon Brooks | Oregon | $5,400 |
| Chris Jones | Pittsburgh | $4,700 |
| Cliff Alexander | Kansas | $4,500 |
| Robert Sampson | Georgia Tech | $3,600 |
Late Afternoon
Keith Shamburger, Missouri ($5,800)

Missouri will be shorthanded in its game against Tennessee. Second-leading scorer Wes Clark is out for the year with an elbow injury, and the Tigers need someone else to step up on the offensive end.
That could very well be Keith Shamburger, who took a season-high 14 shots from the field in his last game. Although he only went 4-of-14 against South Carolina, the aggressiveness is what you want to see from the veteran guard.
Additionally, he should have more success from the perimeter against Tennessee, a squad that ranks 310th in the nation at defending the three, according to KenPom.com. Adding in Shamburger's ability to rack up assists and rebounds, he could have a big day.
Jameel McKay, Iowa State ($5,400)
The thing you can guarantee about Iowa State games is that they will be high scoring and fun to watch. The question is which player on the Cyclones' deep roster will come through with a big game.
While Georges Niang and Monte Morris have played well all year, they are both relatively costly on DraftKings. You are better off choosing a player who has been dominant recently, via Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register:
In two games in the starting lineup, Jameel McKay is averaging 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. He is providing a spread-open offense with a much-needed low-post option. He should be able to keep it up using his athleticism in a back-and-forth battle.
| Devin Williams | West Virginia | $5,800 |
| Brandon Mobley | Seton Hall | $5,100 |
| Matt Jones | Duke | $4,600 |
| Josh Gray | LSU | $4,600 |
| Tyler Harris | Providence | $4,100 |
Evening Games
Domantas Sabonis, Gonzaga ($5,900)

The West Coast Conference is simply Gonzaga against everyone, and that should continue with Saturday's home game against Pepperdine. The only issue is that the Waves do a great job of defending the perimeter.
This means Gonzaga will try to force the ball inside, specifically to freshman big man Domantas Sabonis. ESPN's Myron Medcalf has been impressed with the center's play lately:
Sabonis might not always be an elite offensive threat, but he is as consistent as they come on the boards, with at least eight rebounds in 11 straight games. If he can add some buckets inside, he has a chance to have a big fantasy day.
LaDarius White, Ole Miss ($5,200)
With the lack of scoring going on around college basketball, Arkansas games are a refreshing change. The Razorbacks utilize a high-paced attack that often leads to plenty of buckets. This was evident in their recent 101-87 win over Auburn.
This could also lead to an offensive outbreak for Ole Miss, which is currently riding a six-game winning streak. A big part of that success is LaDarius White, who has scored 36 points off the bench over the last two games.
The senior is going to get a lot of minutes against Arkansas and can rack up the points Saturday night.
| Nino Williams | Kansas State | $5,700 |
| Brandon Taylor | Penn State | $5,500 |
| Cameron Ridley | Texas | $5,300 |
| Shannon Hale | Alabama | $4,800 |
| Rodney Purvis | Connecticut | $4,500 |
