Dwyane Wade Says He Wants to Learn from 'Fifty Shades of Grey'

Dan CarsonFeb 13, 2015

Dwyane Wade is pulling a Valentine's Day power move this weekend. He—not his wife Gabrielle Union—is demanding they go see Fifty Shades of Grey.

TMZ caught up with the Miami Heat shooting guard, who is in New York City for NBA All-Star Weekend. Dispensing with the fluff talk, TMZ's reporter hit Wade with the hard stuff, asking if he and his wife were going to see simulated bondage in a theater setting this weekend.

Wade said yes. Furthermore, he claimed he was the one pushing to see the movie based on the popular erotic book series.

"I'm taking her," Wade said.

Did he read the book?

"I skimmed through it," Wade affirmed. "I had the Cliff Notes."

Is he pumped?

"I wanna learn something," Wade said. "I just got married. I got to keep it up."

Wade and Union were married in August 2014, in a private wedding ceremony befitting of secret agents. This will be their first Valentine's Day as husband and wife, and Wade—student of the game that he is—is looking to add to his arsenal.

Adapt or die, boys. Wade could go kicking and screaming to the theater, but he's opted to embrace the moment and turn it into "Fifty Shades of Wade." That's a veteran move.

Dan is on Twitter, anticipating the trailer for #50ShadesOfWade.
