AP College Basketball Poll 2015: Complete Week 13 Rankings Released

Kentucky, which has been atop the Associated Press Top 25 poll since the preseason, remains there and is now college basketball's only undefeated team. That's because Virginia lost to Duke on Saturday and slid to No. 3 as a result.    

The Wildcats are now just 10 games away from a perfect regular season. None of the opponents left on their schedule are currently ranked inside the Top 25. So it would take a major upset to derail the nation's clear top squad.

There was some other movement throughout the rankings as the conference races begin heating up with March Madness on the horizon.

Kyle Tucker of The Courier-Journal reported Sunday that Kentucky head coach John Calipari is trying to keep his team laser-focused despite its dominance so far. Based on comments from guard Aaron Harrison, he's been able to do exactly that. 

"It's a different feel," Harrison said. "But we know—the older guys know—that this doesn't really mean anything. We know it really gets serious later, late February, March and hopefully April. We want to be playing in April. So it's cool to be undefeated, but that's not why we put on the uniform."

The Wildcats have a realistic chance of running the table straight through to the national title. Complacency is a huge hurdle for teams with so much talent, though. They must continue to match the intensity of their opponents every time out.

Elsewhere, it was an interesting week for Duke. The Blue Devils lost to Notre Dame before scoring the minor upset over Virginia to end its unbeaten run. The back-to-back results sum up the inconsistency Mike Krzyzewski will need to iron out before the NCAA tournament.

David Teel of the Daily Press passes along a note that illustrates how good they can be when playing at their best:

Whatever they accomplish will happen without Rasheed Sulaimon. He was dismissed from the program in a surprise announcement last week. Other reserves will have to come in and fill the void.

It was an up-and-down week for Notre Dame as well. As mentioned, the Fighting Irish defeated the Blue Devils. They followed that up with an upset loss at the hands of unranked ACC foe Pittsburgh, however, in what was a typical trap game on the road.

Chris Hine of the Chicago Tribune provided remarks from Irish coach Mike Brey after the loss to the Panthers. Brey made it clear there's still plenty of work to do as they push toward their ultimate goal.

"We're not (special) yet," Brey said. "I said we have a chance to keep working on it—in search of being special."

Another team to keep an eye on is Iowa State. The Cyclones are flying under the radar for the most part, but that can change Monday night when they head into Allen Fieldhouse to take on Kansas. They already scored a home win over the Jayhawks a couple of weeks ago.

There have been a few lapses, but they play an exciting, up-tempo brand of basketball and are highly efficient on offense, leading the nation in assists per game. Jon Rothstein of the CBS Sports Network is pumped for the huge Big 12 clash:

It's not the only big game Monday, as Virginia looks to get back on track against North Carolina. This is the point of the season where seeding starts to become a major buzzword—both for conference tournaments and the Big Dance.

Those games kick off a busy week of high-profile clashes. Also on tap: Wisconsin vs. Indiana (Tuesday), Duke vs. Notre Dame (Saturday) and Virginia vs. Louisville (Saturday), among others. There's potential for a significant rankings shake-up over the next seven days.

Now that football season is over, college basketball helps fill the void on the sports landscape. There is certainly no shortage of storylines to follow.
