The Timberwolves Shade Kevin Love by Not Including Him in Cavaliers Hype Tape
Languishing under the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers at the bottom of the NBA compost pile are the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are scratching desperately for something to get their supporters excited.
Seeing as everyone on their roster who isn’t Andrew Wiggins is incapable of providing said excitement, Minnesota is using alternative methods for ginning up mojo.
Thus we have the Timberwolves' latest hype video, a production titled “#TheReturn”—a little something to pump up the locals for Saturday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. It’s mostly standard fare, until Minnesota aims a rail gun of side shade at Kevin Love.
Yep, according to Minnesota, Timberwolf-for-a-season Mike Miller (2008-09) is the returning hero back to face his former franchise at the Target Center. The tables have turned. Love no longer exists in Minneapolis.
Update from Friday, Jan. 30
Love laughed off the Timberwolves' hype video, via Ohio.com's Jason Lloyd:
"That’s hilarious. I thought it was really funny because Mike is one of those guys every day he wakes up it’s sunshine and blue skies. More often than not, I have a pretty dry sense of humor. That was pretty good.

I’m hoping—praying—this is a playful jibe from the Timberwolves. A joke played on an old friend.
Otherwise, that would mean the Timberwolves are upset at their former star for having traded him. If that were the case, and the Timberwolves were earnestly cold-shouldering the guy who fed soup to their inert franchise and tended to its bedsores over the last half-decade, it would mean that these are the end times, and the sun would surely fall from the sky and Biblical monsters with multiple heads would emerge from the ocean to lay waste to the kingdoms of man.
Seriously, nothing would make sense any longer.
So we’re just going to give Minnesota the benefit of the doubt and say, “Good one.”
