Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Atlanta Hawks: Live Score, Highlights and Reaction
Paul Millsap had 22 points and 10 rebounds, Jeff Teague added 17 points and the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, 103-93, at Philips Arena Friday night, winning their franchise-record 15th straight game.
This contest was close until the fourth quarter.
The Thunder actually opened up a nine-point lead in the first half, taking advantage of Hawks turnovers and getting buckets in transition. However, Atlanta quickly recovered and took a 48-47 edge into halftime.
The two teams traded blows throughout the third period, and by the end of the third, the Hawks led 79-75.
That was when Atlanta broke things open.
Behind stout defense and incredible ball movement, the Hawks' lead ballooned to 14 in the fourth quarter. Millsap was dominant, spacing the floor and driving to the rim to send Oklahoma City's defense scrambling.
Millsap hit a pivotal three-pointer with 6:24 remaining, putting Atlanta up by 13 and virtually breaking the backs of the Thunder.
Russell Westbrook led OKC with 22 points and 11 assists, but he got limited support from his teammates.
Kevin Durant put in 21 points, but off a poor 8-of-22 shooting clip. Serge Ibaka had a rough night, as well, recording 13 points off 6-of-16 shooting.
Oklahoma City shot only 41 percent as a team.
Meanwhile, the Hawks hit on 48 percent of their shots and shot 40 percent from long distance. They also outrebounded the Thunder, 47-36.
