Batum Exits vs. Celtics With Wrist Injury
Thursday, Jan. 22
He left the game early in the third quarter and was quickly ruled out, per the team's official Twitter feed:
Jason Quick of The Oregonian added more on the potential severity of the injury:
Batum's numbers have been down across the board this season, with his poor shooting (28.1 percent from beyond the arc entering Thursday) likely a result of a lingering wrist injury that has been bothering him since December. He seemed to break out of his slump on Wednesday, though, knocking down six threes on his way to a season-high 27 points.
As he seemed to finally be getting healthy, and with LaMarcus Aldridge out for at least six weeks, per The Columbian's Erik Gundersen, the timing on this couldn't be much worse for the Blazers.
If Batum is sidelined for an extended period of time, Dorrell Wright will likely see the biggest uptick in minutes.
