Jarrett Jack Trade Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation Surrounding Nets PG
The Brooklyn Nets may be nearing a trade that would sent Jarrett Jack to the Charlotte Hornets.
ESPN's Chris Broussard reported that the Nets, Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder have a three-team deal in place, the notable aspects of which include Brook Lopez moving to the Thunder and Lance Stephenson heading to Brooklyn:
USA Today's Sam Amick had more detail:
Jack's stock has bottomed out after what were two very good seasons with the then-New Orleans Hornets and the Golden State Warriors between 2011 and 2013. He struggled mightily to fit in with the Cleveland Cavaliers last year, and a trade to the Nets did little to stem the tide.
Through 39 games in 2014-15, Jack is averaging 10.8 points and 4.3 assists in 28.5 minutes a night. NBA.com's John Schuhmann illuminated how much different Brooklyn is—and not in a good way—when he's on the court:
Should he move to the Hornets, Jack wouldn't transform Charlotte overnight and make it into a playoff team. But he's a veteran point guard who adds depth to the rotation.
The Hornets are also in dire need of scoring. In the right role, Jack could provide instant scoring off the bench. And he couldn't be much worse for Charlotte than Stephenson.
