Suns' Eric Bledsoe Knocks Down Teammate Goran Dragic for Triple-Double
Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe was not going to be denied.
Needing just one rebound in Tuesday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks to record his second career triple-double, Bledsoe made sure he was aggressive in the final minute of the game. When the Mavericks' Charlie Villanueva missed a shot with about 30 seconds remaining, Bledsoe went hard for the ball.
How badly did he want to rebound No. 10? He knocked down his own teammate, Goran Dragic, while going for the ball.
Dragic had a pretty good sense of humor about what happened. Here's what he had to say after the game, per The Associated Press (via Fox Sports):
"I was teasing Bled, 'You were bullying me.' If I'm honest, I didn't know that he needed one more rebound. If I would've known I would have just let it go and let him take it. It's great when he actually got it. The whole crowd and teammates were laughing about it.
"
By the time the game was over, Bledsoe's teammates had already given him a hard time about the final rebound.
"Everybody said that I hurt Goran and he's going to be out like two weeks," Bledsoe said. "I pray that don't happen."
For those wondering, the fifth-year point guard knew how close he was to a triple-double.
"I was exhausted," Bledsoe said. "I was running around the basketball court like a chicken, trying to find that last one."
It's safe to say that the Suns are going to have some fun with this for a while.
Bledsoe finished the game with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Phoenix improved to 16-14 on the season with a 124-115 victory over Dallas.
