Players to Watch

You have to start with the quarterbacks, of course. We have one of the favorites to win the MVP (Aaron Rodgers), the league leader in touchdown passes (Peyton Manning, with 39), last year's top pick in the Pro Bowl (Andrew Luck) and a slew of other big names.

It always starts and ends with the quarterbacks, right?

Of course, plenty of other positions feature standout players. At running back, we get DeMarco Murray (leads the NFL with 1,745 rushing yards) and Le'Veon Bell (2,115 yards from scrimmage).

Antonio Brown highlights the wide receivers. All he's done this year is lead the league in receptions (122), receiving yards (1,570), targets (168) and is tied for third in receiving touchdowns (12), trailing only Dez Bryant (14) and Jordy Nelson (13), who of course are also represented in this year's contest. Expect these offenses to be passing early and often with these guys on the perimeter.

And let's not forget Rob Gronkowski, who has 1,124 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns this year.

The defensive side of ball is highlighted by J.J. Watt, who many people feel should be considered the MVP this season given his 72 tackles, 17.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, interception, 10 pass deflections and five touchdowns.

He's pretty good, that Watt fella.

So is Luke Kuechly, who leads the league with 145 tackles. Or Darrelle Revis and Richard Sherman, the former quietly shutting down the top receivers in the game this year, the latter doing so a bit more vocally.

Carter and Irvin had pretty easy jobs, it turns out, given all of the incredibly talented players available for them to select. The stars will be out to play in this year's Pro Bowl, and the game itself should be one heck of a time.
