Blake Griffin 'Improvises' in New Western-Style Kia Ad
In the Los Angeles Clippers' free-flowing offense, Blake Griffin is used to going off script.
This time, he didn't even read the script.
In this Western-themed Kia ad, Griffin calls an audible, much to the dismay of his embattled director. Instead of riding in on a horse, Griffin ditches the "old nag" for a sleek Kia Optima.
Griffin's confusion is understandable. After all, the Kia Optima does have 274 horsepower.
The director calls cut, but Griffin stands his ground.
"What I'm doing," Griffin says, "is taking something old and replacing it with something cool and unexpected."
It takes some convincing, but Griffin eventually gets his wish. The horse is replaced by a white Kia as Griffin speeds around town in a brown cowboy hat.
I've never heard of the "busted wheel gang" before, but it looks like they mean business. Good thing Clint Eastwood, I mean Blake Griffin, is here to save the day.
When the Oscar nominations come out next month, we'll be on the lookout for Griffin's name.
If you want, you can watch Griffin play peach basket Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs.
