Harris Injured vs. Bucks

While the Orlando Magic aren't really in the Eastern Conference playoff hunt, it doesn't lessen the sting of losing Tobias Harris to injury.

According to Josh Robbins of the Orlando SentinelHarris admitted to suffering a right knee injury Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks:

Harris has shown promise with the Magic since the J.J. Redick trade, and that promise is turning into results in 2014-15. The young forward looks like one of the more encouraging Magic players as the franchise attempts to build a contender. He and Nikola Vucevic have formed a formidable frontcourt duo, especially when it comes to crashing the boards.

There's an added importance for Harris to perform this year.

He's a restricted free agent in the offseason, meaning Orlando will have to decide whether the 22-year-old is worth continuing to develop and inserting into the rebuilding plan.

For Harris, potential millions are on the line. Nobody will offer him a max deal, but he could possibly turn $10 million or $11 million a year into $13 million or $14 million a year based on his production this year.

He was looking great before the injury, so it would be a shame if his performance begins to dip once he returns to the court.
