Friday, Dec. 12

The Los Angeles Clippers will have to make do without power forward Spencer Hawes for at least a short amount of time, as he was taken out of Friday's game against Washington with a knee injury.

According to Dan Woike of The Orange County Register, Hawes is listed as having a bruised left knee and will get get an X-ray to determine the extent of the damage:

Hawes has turned into one Los Angeles' best bench players. He's averaging 6.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game. The Clippers are fortunate to have a lot of size on the inside with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, but Hawes' absence does put a significant dent in Doc Rivers' system.
