New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics: Live Score, Highlights and Reaction

Alec NathanDec 12, 2014

The New York Knicks halted a 10-game losing skid and defeated the Boston Celtics, 101-95, Friday night behind 22 points (9-of-20 shooting), five rebounds and three assists from Carmelo Anthony.

The Knicks (5-20) also snapped an 11-game road losing streak with the victory while the Celtics (7-14) have now dropped three straight.

Playing without J.R. Smith (sore left heel) and Iman Shumpert, who suffered a dislocated left shoulder in the first half, the Knicks put together their most complete offensive performance in weeks.

As a team, New York shot 49.4 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three while four players finished in double figures. Amar'e Stoudemire poured in 20 points and seven boards while Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jason Smith dropped 16 and 12 points, respectively, off the bench.

Jeff Green led all scorers with 28 points on 9-of-20 shooting (4-of-8 from three) while Tyler Zeller (19 points) scored in double figures for the fourth time in his last five games.

Rajon Rondo was relatively quiet throughout, managing a meager two points on 1-of-3 shooting to go with a game-high 10 assists. Rondo has now dropped at least 10 dimes in six of his last eight appearances.

Evan Turner started in place of Avery Bradley (flu-like symptoms) and scored 13 points. He also committed a game-high five turnovers while recording a single assist.

On a shaky night for the Celtics offense, Brad Stevens' club shot 43.5 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from three.

Boston will attempt to get back on the winning track Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers while the Knicks are slated to do battle with the Toronto Raptors on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.
