Fisher Comments on Sitting Anthony
Monday, Dec. 29
Derek Fisher spoke about the possibility of sitting Carmelo Anthony to let his injured knee heal, via Ian Begley of ESPN.com:
""Carmelo is Carmelo. We don't necessarily make decisions for him," Fisher said. "He's part of the conversation. So we have opinions that we've expressed to him. We talk about different things, but really it is a decision that he has to also want to make for himself and his career. He's also conferenced about the team and his teammates, and so we'll continue to find a right balance of it all."

Anthony Leaves Game With Sore Knee
Sunday, Dec. 28
Carmelo Anthony is dealing with a sore knee that forced him to exit Sunday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Knicks' PR account had the news:
"Carmelo Anthony (sore left knee) will not return.
— NY_KnicksPR (@NY_KnicksPR) December 29, 2014"
After the game, Anthony talked about when he expects to play again via Marc Berman of the New York Post:
Anthony is no stranger to dealing with various minor ailments. The veteran hasn't appeared in all 82 games of a regular season since he was a rookie in 2003-04. Already this campaign he's dealt with lingering back and knee issues.
The only silver lining for the Knicks is that he's been able to avoid extended absences (for the most part). Even though his numbers are down as New York works to implement changes on the offensive end of the floor, he's still a crucial piece of the puzzle.
If he's forced to miss some time, head coach Derek Fisher will likely use a committee approach to replace him rather than leaning more heavily on any single player. More importantly, the Knicks will hope Anthony is able to bounce back quickly once again.
More updates will be added as information is made available.
