John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reported the news:
ESPN.com's Michael Wallace added more detail after Friday night's game:
Conley talked with Wallace about the injury Friday:
"Obviously, you don't want to miss too much time because we just got Jeff [Green] and we want to build some momentum going into the All-Star break. So I'm going to try to get back as soon as I can. I'm going to say day-to-day right now. I don't know my limits yet, but I know there's still pain.
"
Conley is one of the quickest floor generals in the game and is often overlooked despite his proficiency, low turnover rate and underrated outside shooting ability.
The 27-year-old veteran has also been quite durable in his NBA career despite a rather slender frame. Should Conley be out of the lineup for a prolonged period of time, Memphis will turn to Beno Udrih for the most part to run the point, as the team lacks many pure ball-handlers.
Until Conley returns, the Grizzlies will have to rely upon their elite defense.
Tony Allen is among the best in the game at locking down the perimeter, while the frontcourt duo of Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph is as physical and gritty as any in the Association.
Although Memphis will miss Conley's characteristic quickness and distributing ability for the time being, the Grizzlies tout enough depth and firepower in the rotation to stay afloat in the loaded West.
