Wisconsin vs. Oklahoma: Live Score and Highlights from Battle for Atlantis Final

Kevin McRaeNov 28, 2014

The No. 2 Wisconsin Badgers pulled away in the second half to capture the 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis Championship with a 69-56 win over the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday afternoon at the Imperial Arena in the Bahamas.

The Badgers led by just one point after a back-and-forth first 20 minutes that featured 11 lead changes and four ties, but came out firing in the second half and never trailed again.

Wisconsin (7-0) came out of the locker room and went on an extended 18-2 run, keyed by stud big man and Wooden Award contender Frank Kaminsky.

Kaminsky, who missed over 14 minutes in the first half due to early foul trouble, had a game-high 17 points—14 in the second half—and eight rebounds.

But he was just one of five Badgers in double figures.

Traevon Jackson, Duje Dukan, Sam Dekker and Nigel Hayes also eclipsed the double-digit mark, giving the Badgers too many weapons for Oklahoma to hang for the full 40 minutes.

Oklahoma (4-2) hung close in the first half, despite turning over the ball 14 times.

The Sooners finished with a season-high 21 giveaways on the day, placing unnecessary pressure on their defense to get stops and keep them in the game.

With Kaminsky on the bench, the Sooners were able to force the Badgers into tough shots and clean up the boards, but his return stretched their defense and changed the flow of the game.

Oklahoma’s star guard Buddy Hield struggled mightily from the floor, finishing with just nine points on 2-of-11 shooting. He was kept scoreless in the second half.

The Badgers will get a few days to rest from their championship victory before facing the No. 4 Duke Blue Devils in a marquee early season matchup Wednesday night in Madison.

The Sooners will return to the floor on Friday night when they host Missouri.
