Williams Injures Shoulder vs. Trail Blazers
The Hornets' PR account passed along the latest on Williams' ailment:
Williams, 28, has averaged 6.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game as the team's starter. Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer noted the immediate impact for the Hornets due to losing Williams:
If he is forced to miss any more time, Charlotte would need Cody Zeller or Noah Vonleh to step up. Both are inexperienced players, but Zeller has average more points and rebounds on the season than Williams.
Currently at 4-11, the Hornets need to turn things around dramatically to make a playoff run. Being without Williams, the lack of depth would hinder the offense moving forward.
