NFL Power Rankings: Week 13 Standings Based on Latest Super Bowl Odds
Somehow, the number of realistic Super Bowl contenders does not seem to drop as the season progresses.
In most seasons, fans and experts can start to eliminate teams at this point in the year and get down to four or five legitimate contenders and a few more with an outside shot. However, this season appears to be wide open even heading into Week 13.
This is certain to create a lot of excitement as we head into the playoffs.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While some teams obviously have a better chance than others of winning it all this year, here is a look at each team's Super Bowl odds, courtesy of Odds Shark.
32. Oakland Raiders (5,000-1)
After an 0-10 start to the season, the Oakland Raiders finally got a win with a surprising 24-20 upset over the Kansas City Chiefs. While it wasn't perfect, you can't complain about any victory at this point.
The organization will now hope Derek Carr and company can use some momentum to end the year as strong as possible.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars (3,000-1)
It is usual for a rookie quarterback to struggle out of the gate, but Blake Bortles now has 15 interceptions with only eight touchdowns. There comes a point when he should be learning from his mistakes, and he hasn't yet.
Jacksonville has talent on both sides of the field, but the quarterback position is still a question mark.
30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2,000-1)
Tampa Bay has been awful for most of the year and is only one game away from being in position for the No. 1 pick of the draft. On the other hand, the squad is only two games out of first place in the NFC South.
While a playoff spot doesn't seem likely, it is hard to rule out anyone in that terrible division.
29. New York Jets (2,000-1)
All of the good the Jets had with the win over the Pittsburgh Steelers heading into the bye was completely lost with a 38-3 defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills.
There are questions about who will play quarterback going forward, but that likely won't be decided until we know about the future of the head coach and general manager.
28. Tennessee Titans (1,000-1)
Tennessee has only one win since Week 1, but that might not be the worst thing to happen to this organization. While Zach Mettenberger has shown some promise, no one besides him would be upset to see the Titans draft a quarterback early in the first round next year.
A few more losses to end the year will make this much more likely.
27. Washington Redskins (1,000-1)
There have been questions about quarterback play all season, but the problems with this franchise go much deeper than Robert Griffin III.
If the Redskins want to get back to winning, they will have to make major changes in the offseason and bring in talent on both offense and defense.
26. St. Louis Rams (1,000-1)
The Rams might be 4-7, but they have performed as well as anyone could have expected after losing Sam Bradford for the season.
Austin Davis and Shaun Hill have filled in admirably, but Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com notes the team still needs help at the position in order to be competitive:
"Rams' latest loss offered further affirmation that the Rams are still a quarterback away from getting over the hump. http://t.co/jvQXH7OZTx
— Nick Wagoner (@nwagoner) November 24, 2014"
Even without an experienced passer, St. Louis has wins over the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos, which might alone be enough to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. Unfortunately, the NFL doesn't work that way, and the Rams remain in last place.
On the plus side, contention should be right around the corner.
25. New York Giants (750-1)
Odell Beckham Jr. looks like a star in the making with his quickness and ability to get open, as well as the skill to catch the ball even when he is not.
Unfortunately, no one else on the Giants has been doing much to help the team win, leading to their 3-8 record.
24. Minnesota Vikings (300-1)
The Vikings might not have been able to pull off the upset over the Packers, but Teddy Bridgewater looked confident in bringing his team close and seems to already have the trust of his teammates. If he can continue to improve, Minnesota will have a bright future with or without Adrian Peterson.
23. Houston Texans (250-1)

While J.J. Watt might be one of the best players in football, he can only do so much on the defensive line. The offense was extremely limited against the Cincinnati Bengals with Ryan Mallett unable to move the ball down the field.
Things will be better with a healthy Arian Foster, but this team is still not ready for contention just yet.
22. Carolina Panthers (150-1)
Like the Buccaneers, the Panthers are still somehow in contention despite an awful start to the season. While the team had a week off Week 12, it is hard to imagine too many fixes were made after six games without a win.
At best, Carolina will have to hope Cam Newton does not get killed behind an awful offensive line.
21. Buffalo Bills (150-1)
The Bills earned an emotional win Monday night, keeping them competitive in the AFC as they moved to 6-5. This is more than most people would've expected coming into the year, and it is already something to be happy about.
On the other hand, remaining games against the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots will likely keep Buffalo out of the playoffs.
20. Chicago Bears (100-1)
After the Chicago Bears seemed helpless for much of the season, they have bounced back with two wins in a row to get back to 5-6.
Jay Cutler explained on ESPN 1000 (via ESPN.com) that the key going forward is to move past mistakes:
"We made some mistakes. We came in at halftime, made some adjustments, talked about what we liked moving forward. Defense got some turnovers, and we put some points on the board. Win or loss, we’re always trying to improve on offense. We’re always looking at what we did wrong. This week’s a little bit different because we’ve got to move on. We can’t really dwell on much that happened yesterday. We’ll make some corrections to some major things, then after that we’ve got to go.
"
There has never been a discussion about whether Chicago has talent. With Pro Bowl weapons like Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall, Cutler should be able to spread the ball around and light up the scoreboard.
It comes down to focus and consistency as the Bears try to work their way back toward playoff contention.
19. Atlanta Falcons (75-1)
With the last-second loss to the Browns, the Falcons showed once again that it is difficult to win games when you can't control the line of scrimmage. Cleveland's linemen moved the ball on the ground and protected their quarterback, something Atlanta could not do.
This is something that must be addressed in the offseason.
18. Miami Dolphins (75-1)
Miami is very much still in the playoff picture at 6-5, but more importantly it appears as though the organization has found its quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. The third-year player has posted quarterback ratings of over 100 in three of the last four games and five of the last eight.
As he continues to showcase more consistency, he could be one of the better quarterbacks in the league.
17. Cleveland Browns (75-1)
Brian Hoyer might have led the game-winning drive to beat the Falcons, but he did throw three interceptions, and his mistakes were a big reason Cleveland was even in the game.
While it is hard to change quarterbacks when you have a winning record, Johnny Manziel is waiting for a chance and can do more than just act in Snickers commercials. It might be time for a switch.
16. New Orleans Saints (40-1)
Remember when the Saints were invincible at home? Well, Drew Brees and company have now lost three games in a row at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Although the losses were to good opponents, it is hard to have any sort of optimism after some terrible performances at a place where the Saints are used to dominating.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (40-1)
The Steelers will try to use their late bye week to help them in the home stretch in the loaded AFC North. The 7-4 record is only good enough for a tie for last place, but two games remaining against the Bengals will certainly give Pittsburgh a chance to win the division.
As long as Ben Roethlisberger plays to his potential, the Steelers should be in good shape.
14. San Diego Chargers (33-1)
While San Diego responded to its three straight losses with two straight wins, the last two victories have not been too convincing at home against Oakland and St. Louis.
Philip Rivers has to go back to being the lights-out passer he was at the start of the season if the Chargers want to earn a playoff spot.
13. Detroit Lions (33-1)
After a 7-2 start, the Lions have struggled over the past two weeks in road games against the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots. While there is no shame in losing to these two elite teams in their buildings, Detroit has to make sure it ends the slide soon.
The good news is that things get much easier from this point, as noted by Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk:
Matthew Stafford and the Lions will want to do whatever they can to not only make the playoffs but also win the division. Considering the struggles on the road this year, home games in the postseason could be huge.
Still, the NFC North will likely come down to the Week 17 matchup between Detroit and the Green Bay Packers.
12. Baltimore Ravens (33-1)
The Ravens earned a big win in New Orleans and showed that it is still one of the better teams in the AFC. The problem is that there is only one division game remaining on the schedule, and the squad is already 2-3 against the AFC North.
There are winnable games over the next few weeks, but Baltimore could end up in a position of hoping for help late in the year.
11. Kansas City Chiefs (33-1)
Few teams had been playing better than the Chiefs over the past month, but they lost all their momentum with a Thursday night loss to the Raiders.
The season could end up coming down to the upcoming home matchup against the Denver Broncos. Otherwise, it will be tough to make up ground in the AFC West.
10. Cincinnati Bengals (28-1)
A team that has looked dead in the water at times this year, the Bengals now appear to be peaking at the right time with a strong road win over the Texans.
Ending the year with five road games in seven games seemed like an impossible task for Cincinnati, but this team seems on its way toward a strong finish.
9. Indianapolis Colts (18-1)
The Colts have four losses this year by teams with a combined 32-12 record. While this is nothing to be disappointed about, eventually they have to show the ability to beat elite opponents.
Indianapolis has looked great against inferior competition, but you can't trust them as a Super Bowl contender just yet.
8. Philadelphia Eagles (18-1)
It clearly doesn't matter what quarterbacks, running backs or receivers you put into this system, because Chip Kelly will find a way to make it work.
With the defense and special teams contributing in a big way on the scoreboard as well with eight return touchdowns, it will be very difficult to outscore Philadelphia this year.
7. Dallas Cowboys (16-1)
As well as the Cowboys have played this season, the action picks up this week with a Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Eagles. This is the first of two games in a three-week stretch against Philadelphia, which will be extremely important in the NFC East race.
If Tony Romo plays well in the next few games, he will not have to worry about coming through in Week 17.
6. San Francisco 49ers (14-1)
The 49ers are likely encouraged by their 7-4 record, but scoring only 33 combined points against the Giants and Redskins has to be cause for concern.
If San Francisco does not figure out the problems quickly, it could be a long day offensively against the Seattle Seahawks defense.
5. Arizona Cardinals (14-1)
Although the Cardinals could only manage three points against Seattle, they still only have two losses this year, both of which came on the road against last year's Super Bowl participants.
With a two-game lead in the NFC West, Arizona will do whatever it takes to hold on to the division and earn some much-needed home games in the postseason.
4. Seattle Seahawks (12-1)
While this season has not gone exactly as the Seahawks had hoped, they are peaking at the right time and are once again a top contender for the Super Bowl.
A big question for Seattle was how it would respond to a difficult schedule that featured five games in a row against teams with winning records. The first step was a battle against the Cardinals, which the Seahawks won 19-3. The Monday Morning Quarterback was impressed at the display:
Curtis Crabtree of Pro Football Talk saw some swagger return to the defense:
Although the 7-4 record might not scare everyone, no one should count out Seattle winning a second title in a row.
3. Denver Broncos (5-1)
Are the Broncos struggling? Absolutely. Will it cause them to miss the playoffs? Probably not.
All that matters to Peyton Manning and company is what happens in the postseason, so some poor performances here and there can be overlooked. The question is whether the defense will be able to hold up when January comes around.
2. Green Bay Packers (4-1)
Not every game will be a dominant effort, but Aaron Rodgers has earned the respect that he can be trusted late in games, as he helps the Packers win.
With Eddie Lacy playing well lately and creating some balance offensively, this offense will be even tougher to defend in the postseason.
1. New England Patriots (3-1)
The Broncos tried and failed. The Colts tried and failed. The Lions tried and failed. Now, the Packers will be the next team attempting to end the Patriots' winning streak.
After every other top squad struggled on both sides of the ball against what has clearly become the best team in the NFL, you won't find me betting against New England.
