
Eric Gordon Injury: Updates on Pelicans Star's Shoulder and Return
Eric Gordon's nightmare start to the season got worse at the end of November, when he was forced to leave a game against the Utah Jazz early after suffering a shoulder injury.
Gordon was later diagnosed with a torn labrum, and has been out of the lineup since the injury. He is expected to finally return on Jan. 5.

Gordon Could Make Practice Return in 2 Weeks

Darrell Williams of the New Orleans Advocate has an update on Gordon's status:
"New Orleans Pelicans guard Eric Gordon said Tuesday that the healing and rehabilitation of his torn left labrum is going well.
“I will return to practice in two weeks,” Gordon said.
Gordon's shoulder was injured on Nov. 22 in a game at Utah. He was driving to the basket with 3 minutes, 42 seconds left in the second quarter when Jazz guard Trey Burke grabbed Gordon's left arm.

Surgery Last Resort for Gordon

John Reid of NOLA.com provides an update on Gordon's recovery:
"But Gordon acknowledged on Tuesday that surgery will be considered as a last option.
'We’ll see,’ Gordon said. 'It’s a full tear. I still have a labrum. But it’s tough for any athlete to deal with that.
'If I keep on playing, it’s going to be a lingering issue. This thing doesn’t heal all the way correctly, I’ve heard, unless surgery happens. I don’t know, it’s (surgery option) still hard to determine right now.'

Gordon Diagnosed With Torn Labrum

The New Orleans Pelicans updated Eric Gordon's status with a release on their website:
"The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that guard Eric Gordon will be out indefinitely with a left shoulder injury. An MRI revealed Gordon suffered a torn labrum as a result of the left shoulder subluxation injury that occurred Saturday night at Utah.
Gordon will undergo further evaluation throughout this week by the team's medical staff to determine the best course of action moving forward. More details will be released as they become available.
