Hornets Being Cautious With Kidd-Gilchrist Return
Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer has the latest on Kidd-Gilchrist's recovery:
"The Charlotte Hornets have said the earliest small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could return to action is Wednesday’s home game against the Chicago Bulls. However, Wednesday might be too soon considering the nature of his injury.
The team is very concerned about this turning into a fracture, so Kidd-Gilchrist’s injury is being treated with great caution.
“He’s doing well, but with that particular injury you’ve got to be careful and cautious because it could be (another) six weeks or eight weeks if he comes back too soon,” Hornets coach Steve Clifford said.
Clifford said it’s too early to project when Kidd-Gilchrist could be cleared to play.
“I don’t think they’re really sure yet. They’re just starting to do more with him,” Clifford said. “He did some stationary shooting and the water workout. He can’t put a lot of pressure on his foot.”

Kidd-Gilchrist Diagnosed with Stress Reaction in Right Foot
Beating the Dallas Mavericks is hard enough as it is. The Charlotte Hornets will head into battle with the Mavs on Monday without one of their best players.
Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reported that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will be absent with a stress reaction in his right foot:
Through six games, Kidd-Gilchrist is averaging 9.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists a night. His shooting has improved by leaps and bounds so far, with his percentage up nearly 150 points to 62.5.
Charlotte's had a somewhat disappointing start to the season, and that's unlikely to change as long as Kidd-Gilchrist is absent.
