Legends Classic 2014: Teams, Schedule, Live Stream, Bracket, TV Info
College basketball teams don't submit their resumes to the committee until March, but you can help yourself with some nice wins in November.
The 2014 Legends Classic represents a great opportunity for a number of squads to earn valuable wins early in the year that can help them later on. Villanova, VCU, Michigan and Oregon all figure to be in the mix for NCAA tournament spots, although the question is which ones are the most prepared to compete right away.
Meanwhile, each of these top programs could face challenges before they even get to Brooklyn. Here is a complete look at the tournament with a breakdown of the early set of games on each campus.

UConn's STACKED Schedule ☠️

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Villanova Regional
| Nov. 17 | Maryland Eastern Shore at Villanova | 7 p.m. | Fox Sports 1 |
| Nov. 20 | Bucknell at Villanova | 8 p.m. | CBS Sports |
After a surprisingly good season a year ago, Villanova now comes into the year with high expectations with a roster full of experienced competitors. Brian Hamilton of Sports Illustrated thinks the squad can go to the Final Four:
Of course, the Wildcats did not look like an elite team against Lehigh in the first game of the year. They earned an 11-point win, but only shot 38 percent from the field. Darrun Hilliard and Ryan Arcidiacono combined to shoot 8-of-32 from the field, including 2-of-16 from behind the arc.
The problem isn't a lack of talent, but rather poor judgement as the players failed to work for good shots, something uncharacteristic for upperclassmen.
Head coach Jay Wright has to get his team to play with more control and not like Marshall Henderson.
On the plus side, neither Maryland Eastern Shore nor Bucknell should provide too much of a challenge in the early games as the Wildcats prepare for the later rounds of this tournament.
Ann Arbor Regional
| Nov. 17 | Bucknell at Michigan | 8 p.m. | Big Ten Network |
| Nov. 20 | Detroit at Michigan | 6 p.m. | Big Ten Network |
Michigan saw its backcourt dominate in the first game as Caris LeVert, Zak Irvin and Derrick Walton Jr. combined for 63 points. This group is as good as there is in the country, especially LeVert who came close to earning a triple-double.
Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports noted the potential for the junior:
However, the real question is how the bigs will fare over the course of the season. Mark Donnal and Kameron Chatman got the start, but there will be questions about the thin frontcourt all season after losing key players from last year.
The Wolverines will be able to score points, but interior defense will be an issue that sticks with them all season.
Detroit is a team that can cause problems for major-conference opponents with its pace and scoring ability. Anton Wilson scored 20 points in 24 minutes in the first game and should be able to pair with Juwan Howard Jr. to create a quality tandem all year.
However, the squad does not have enough size to take advantage of Michigan's biggest weakness, and the Wolverines should be able to pull out two wins to start this tournament.

Richmond Regional
| Nov. 18 | Toledo at VCU | 6 p.m. | ESPNU |
| Nov. 20 | Maryland Eastern Shore at VCU | 7 p.m. | ESPNU |
If you've watched VCU play over the past few years, you know exactly what to expect from this team. The Rams will play very aggressive defense that stretches the entire court and will cause turnovers, leading to easy baskets on the other end.
This strategy has been working for Shaka Smart for years, but this might be the most talented team he has ever had in Richmond.
Melvin Johnson, Briante Weber and Treveon Graham create a lot of versatility on both ends of the court as the squad can score on, or defend against, virtually any lineup it will face.
This is not good news for the first few teams on the schedule, as both Toledo and Maryland Eastern Shore could have problems holding onto the ball. Expect close to 20 turnovers in each matchup as VCU earns easy wins.
That being said, the guard play from Villanova and Michigan could cause problems in the later round.
Eugene Regional
| Nov. 17 | Detroit at Oregon | 11 p.m. | ESPNU |
| Nov. 21 | Toledo at Oregon | 7 p.m. | Pac-12 Network |
Oregon seemed like it could be one of the top sleepers in the nation going into this season, rounding out an interesting field at this tournament. However, the squad lost a lot of talent when it dismissed a handful of players during the offseason.
This left Joseph Young virtually by himself alongside an experienced bunch. However, he was up to the task in the first game against Coppin State, totaling 32 points, eight assists and five rebounds in a 107-65 win.
He discussed his impact after the game, via Justin Wise of the Daily Emerald:
"I just felt like I had to make extra plays. My freshman year when I had a season opener, I was shocked. It’s just how it is, as the game got going on and as they knew it was just basketball, they started to play their game. [...]
That’s what I learned this summer. I know guys are going to be dying in on me. There’s going to be a lot of guys open and just making the extra play, and as coach says, the smart plays.
"
He will have to be just as impressive in each game if Oregon is to compete in this tournament.
The squad could especially have trouble early against Toledo as Julius Brown and Justin Drummond look to lead an experienced bunch to a quality road win to kick off the season.
