Marshawn Lynch, Robert Turbin, Christine Michael's Post-Week 11 Fantasy Reaction

Matt FitzgeraldNov 16, 2014

After racking up a team-record 350 rushing yards in the previous game, fantasy owners were hoping the Seattle Seahawks' ground game would produce big points again in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Marshawn Lynch was the workhorse who attempted to assert the Seahawks' physical will on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium, and he was in full "Beast Mode." Young ball-carriers Robert Turbin and Christine Michael contributed little to the cause in a 24-20 loss.

Dual-threat Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson is always a threat to take off and run on designed plays or through scrambling, so that eliminates some of the potential workload for his backfield. Wilson had 71 yards rushing on just eight carries Sunday.

No matter what unfolded in Week 11, though, Lynch wasn't going to lose his status as a fantasy RB1. The man had four touchdowns on the ground last week and entered Sunday with the sixth-most carries in the NFL.

Albert Breer of NFL Network provided details before the game about Lynch's questionable status, which made his performance in Kansas City all the more impressive:

NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal noted how Lynch was ailing during the halftime intermission:

Turbin is the more experienced player to Michael and is the fantasy handcuff option to go for. That said, Michael's superior upside could justify a larger workload moving forward.

With Lynch and the team reportedly set to part ways before 2015, per NFL.com's Kevin Patra, it would be interesting to see who emerges as the feature back between Turbin and Michael.

That's a development for fantasy owners in keeper leagues to monitor, because the other two Seahawks running backs don't represent much immediate fantasy value due to Lynch's workload.
