Pablo Prigioni Suffers Hand Injury
Marc Berman of the New York Post reported the latest on the injury for Prigioni:
In his third year with the Knicks, Prigioni has contributed 4.8 points and 2.5 assists per game. Before his departure Wednesday night, he had just one rebound and was 0-of-2 shooting in six minutes.
With a lack of depth already at the point guard position, losing Prigioni would be a huge blow. Steve Popper of the Record noted the players already missing for New York:
The Knicks will have to lean more heavily on Shane Larkin if Prigioni misses time. In his second year, Larkin has stepped up early with 7.5 points and 3.5 assists per game with Jose Calderon out.
A huge matchup on Friday night looms against the Brooklyn Nets. If Prigioni isn't in the lineup, New York would be down yet another dependable player for the rivalry game.
Sitting at 2-2 prior to playing the Pistons, not having Prigioni in the backcourt would limit the offense even more. Larkin has talent, but his lack of experience in the NBA means Carmelo Anthony and others will have to carry the team around him.
