Al-Farouq Aminu Injury: Updates on Mavericks Forward's Knee and Return
Dallas Mavericks small forward Al-Farouq Aminu suffered a left knee injury against the Boston Celtics on Monday night.
Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the latest on the forward:
Aminu, 24, is typically used in a limited role but adds depth to the Mavericks. He has averaged 6.0 points and 5.7 rebounds this season, including a 16-10 game recently against the Utah Jazz.
Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com offered his take on the impact Aminu has had this year:
"Al-Farouq Aminu just continues to impress. Back-to-back threes from Aminu and Dirk. @dallasmavs lead 48-23 with 10:12 left in the half.

There is no timetable yet for Aminu's return, with more information likely to come out after the game. Luckily for the Mavs, they have plenty of firepower at the position with both Chandler Parsons and veteran Richard Jefferson.
Expected to compete for a top spot in the Western Conference this season, losing Aminu would hurt the depth of the Dallas lineup. But with Parsons, Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis on offense, they still have the pieces to thrive if Aminu misses any time.
