Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
McCoy's season started much the same as Cousins' when he replaced Robert Griffin III following an ankle injury. He threw for a 70-yard touchdown to Pierre Garcon for a massive statement in the second half.
Field Yates and Trey Wingo of ESPN offer their take on the huge play from McCoy:
That would not be the only successful drive for McCoy in the matchup. When the game was on the line, he went 5-of-6 for 71 yards, leading to a 22-yard field goal by Kai Forbath to seal the victory.
Matthew Berry of ESPN noted the final drive for McCoy:
Bruce Arthur of the Toronto Star also issued his thoughts:
During his career, McCoy has played in 28 games with 4,401 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and 20 interceptions prior to Sunday. Much of that was with the Cleveland Browns before playing in four games with the San Francisco 49ers.
McCoy takes over for a team that is struggling and looking for answers at the quarterback position. It's certainly not a guaranteed position with Griffin still out, but the Redskins clearly need help in the passing game.
