Bruce Irvin Injury: Updates on Seahawks Star's Ankle and Return
The Seattle Seahawks star Bruce Irvin was nursing an ankle injury heading into Week 4 but was ultimately active on Monday against the Detroit Lions.
The Seahawks announced on Sunday that Irvin had been added to the injury report, classifying him as questionable.
Irvin was the No. 15 overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft out of West Virginia, and he has evolved in a major way since entering the league. He started out as a situational pass-rusher, but over the course of a few seasons, he has managed to develop into an all-around outside linebacker.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
His one job as a rookie was to get to the quarterback, and he did that to great effect with eight sacks. Irvin's role quickly changed in 2013, and it ultimately worked, as he was a starting linebacker on a Super Bowl roster.
Last season may have been Irvin's best from an overall perspective: He registered 43 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two interceptions and two touchdowns for the NFL's most dominant defense.
Despite his spectacular season, the Seahawks decided against picking up Irvin's contract option for 2016. The 27-year-old was irked by that move, to say the least, and he went on a Twitter rant, per ESPN.com's Terry Blount:
"Worked for everything I got in my life this s--- will b no different! I earns my keeps!
(...)
Faced way tougher adversity getting outta them streets coming up! That's s--- is nothing! F--- THAT OPTION!
"
The Seahawks subsequently opened up the pocketbook during the offseason by signing both quarterback Russell Wilson and linebacker Bobby Wagner to long-term deals. That elicited another response from Irvin on Twitter:
He missed four games in 2013 and was forced to sit out one contest last season with rib issues.
